About the Role

Position Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) responsibilities combine both administrative and clinical care services. This multi-skilled role includes appointment scheduling, greets patients and visitors, registration for patients, updating demographic information, and receiving co-payments for patient visits. The CMA will assist physicians in delivering excellent patient care to our community.

Patient check-in and check-out
Patient scheduling
Precerts & Authorizations
Prescription refill authorizations
Chart preparation
Phone triage
Patient care
Prepare/ administer oral/intramuscular medications as directed
Perform ECG’s
Perform basic laboratory tests
Regulatory compliance
Charge entry
Coding accuracy
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Core Competencies

  • Ability to learn and perform complexities of scheduling

  • Demonstrated experience making triage decisions

  • Effectively able to build relationships

  • Successful in driving results and using sound judgment

  • Must be efficient with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ensures and maintains the confidentiality of patient information and other WrightCare business information in accordance with HIPAA and other compliance standards.

  • Complies with the Code of Conduct and other established policies, including but not limited to compliance, quality, and safety.


Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Required

  • 2- 4 years of clerical work experience in medical setting Required

  • Medical Certification such as a CMA, or Phlebotomist is Required (If candidate is not certified, they must be able to obtain certification within 180 days of employment)
