Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Think you're ready to get started, but have a few questions? We've got you covered. Here's a list of frequently asked questions. However, feel free to give us a call if you need more information. 901-452.7391
What can I expect at my initial visit?
Our medical assistants will collect you basic vitals (height, weight, and blood pressure). Then, our Nurse Practitioner will review your medical history, review your weight-loss options, and determine a treatment plan that would be best for you. You should plan for the initial visit to be about 20-30 minutes. Subsequent visits (3-6 months later) will be less than 15 minutes.

Do I need an appointment?
To ensure we maximize your time and reduce long waits, we kindly ask you to schedule an appointment. However, appointments are typically available same-day. Our weight loss clinic is open Monday-Friday 930am-430pm.

What if I am already on a GLP-1 and want to begin with your clinic?
We welcome you to begin with us! However, we still require you to attend an initial visit to begin.

Is weight loss treatment covered by insurance?
Our GLP-1 medications and accompanying visits are NOT billed to insurance. These services are strictly self-pay. We only accept electronic forms of payment such as debit/credit cards and some HSA/FSA cards.

Do you prescribe name brand weight loss injections such as Mounjaro/Zepbound or Wegovy/Ozempic?
Of course! If you want a prescription for the name brand injections vs the compound GLP-1, you will just pay for the office visit and the nurse practitioner will write you the prescription to take to your preferred pharmacy. The cost will then be dependent on your insurance coverage

What kind of side-effects can I expect taking a weight loss medication?
Every patient is different. Mild side effects may include nausea, constipation, or fatigue especially when you first begin. Most symptoms will subside as you adjust, but the Nurse Practitioner will review options to deal with side effects when determining which medication is right for you.

Can I take GLP-1 medication even if I'm not a diabetic?
Absolutely. GLP-1 medications are beneficial for patients with diabetes, but studies have shown they can be just as beneficial in patients who do not have diabetes for weight loss.

I'm a diabetic. Can I take GLP-1 medication?
Yes. Many patients with diabetes can take GLP-1 medications and have proven to be beneficial in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. In many instances, it is possible your insurance will cover the medication. During your office visit, we will determine what's best for you.
